He accompanied Nova and Phyla on the mission to kill Annihilus in which they succeeded after Phyla took the Quantum Bands and Nova ripped out Annihilus' insides.
He became a valuable asset against the forces of Annihilus although he refused to speak about his past to anybody. AnnihilationĪfter he left the Imperial Guard, he became Nova 's main aide during the Annihilation Wave as part of the United Front. Gladiator conscripted Starlord into the Imperial Guard to help them with the Fallen One and Thanos.

With the help of Thanos, she was defeated but another great threat broke free of his imprisonment - the Fallen One. In the Kyln, Starlord allied with Gladiator, who was there to watch over Kosmos, the mortal form of the Beyonder. The collateral damage was 350,000 dead which ended up getting Starlord life imprisonment in the Kyln, a super prison on the edge of the universe. He was in guilt and gave up his Star-Lord identity. But, a lot of lives where taken to provide the energy needed to stop the Fallen One. Star-Lord did happen to subdue his much stronger opponent. Star-Lord was confronted by the Fallen One who was the first herald of Galactus. Peter's origin would be retold in the Marvel NOW! relaunch with some twists to the original, including the Badoon being the aliens that killed his mother and the absence of the Master of the Sun. All previous versions would be considered an alternate reality counterpart (Earth-791). Star-Lord would later be reintroduced in Thanos #8 (2004) and this would eventually become the main Marvel universe (Earth-616) version of the character. Star Lord was created by Steve Englehart and Steve Gan and first appeared in Marvel Preview #4 (1976). He was stranded and eventually met Yondu and the Ravagers and convinced them to let him join their pirate crew. Given a job by his mother's friend Lisa Chang, Peter got close enough to NASA to eventually steal a Kree vessel that he discovered how to operate and left for space. His new motivation for space travel is to protect Earth from the Badoon. Peter survived by finding his father's element gun, which many believe to be a simple toy, so he was able to keep it through the orphanages and foster homes he went through. Living on Earth, Peter's mother was killed by the Badoon because they wished to destroy J'Son's lineage. Peter is the son of J'Son of Spartax and the Earth woman Meredith Quill.
